Blue Cave Entrance Fee: What the Ticket Costs and Why No Tour Includes It

The Biševo Blue Cave ticket is €24 (20 Jun–10 Sep) or €18 in the shoulder season, €12/€9 for children, free under 6 — sold only at Mezuporat and excluded from every tour. The full arithmetic.

Updated August 2026

The single most useful fact about the Biševo Blue Cave is also the one that every tour listing puts under not included: the cave has its own ticket, and no boat tour price contains it. Here is what it costs, who sells it, and how it changes the real price of each way in.

If you already know that and just want the boat: the Blue Cave & 5 Islands small-group tour from Split is the most-reviewed way to arrive in the light window — 4.6 from 7,641 verified guests, from about $127, plus the €24 below.

The official price list

The cave is operated by Nautički centar Komiža d.o.o., and its published price list — valid from 1 June 2025 and still the figure every operator quotes for 2026 — is:

TicketHigh season 20 Jun – 10 SepOff season 1 Apr – 19 Jun & 11 Sep – 31 Oct
Adult (over 12)€24€18
Child 6–12€12€9
Child under 6freefree
VIP private transfer, 2–12 people, tickets included€660 per boat€460 per boat

The ticket buys one small-boat transfer into the cave, the visit itself, and free entry to the multimedia exhibition at the Blue Cave Visitor Centre on Biševo. Payment is cash or card at the Mezuporat reception; on most tours the crew collects it in cash on the boat before you arrive, so bring the exact euros. The VIP transfer must be booked at least one working day ahead and only two run at once between 10:00 and 14:00 in July and August — it is the only way to buy a guaranteed slot.

There is no online sale of the standard ticket and no way to skip it: the speedboat you booked cannot enter the cave, only the licensed small boats can.

What that does to the real price of each tour

Tour prices below are the booking platform’s listed starting prices; the ticket is the high-season adult rate.

Way inHeadline+ Cave ticketReal total (high season)
Blue Cave & 5 Islands, small group from Split (4.6 · 7,641 reviews)$127.51+€24~$155
Budget 5-Island tour from Split (5.0 · 3,121)$91.41+€24~$119
From Vis: local speedboat, Biševo & Green Cave (5.0 · 152)$115.71+€24 (+ Green Cave)~$143
From Hvar: Blue Cave, Green Cave & 5 Islands (4.8 · 904)$121.49+€24 (+ Green Cave €12)~$163
Komiža taxi boat, no tour~€35+€24~€59

Two things stand out. First, the ticket is a bigger share of the cheap options — nearly a fifth of the budget Split tour’s real cost. Second, the Komiža hop is by far the cheapest way to see the cave, but only if you are already on Vis; from Split the ferry alone eats that saving.

Why operators exclude it

Because they cannot sell it. The ticket is issued at Mezuporat by the cave operator, per person, per transfer, and it depends on the cave being open — which the wind decides on the day. If your tour reaches Biševo and the cave is shut, you simply do not pay for it and the boat reroutes to the Green Cave and the islands. Bundling a ticket that may not exist would mean refunding it constantly, so every operator, from the 7,641-review small-group tour to the Vis local boat, leaves it as a cash line.

The one honest exception to “nobody skips the queue”: the Vis-based operator holds a fast-entry card as an island carrier, so its skipper buys the tickets and its passengers get their turn ahead of the mainland wave — the price is the same.

Practical notes

  • Bring cash. €24 or €18 per adult, exact if you can; the crew collects it on the boat.
  • Children under 6 are free, 6–12 half price — say so when the crew counts heads.
  • Old prices are still quoted online (€13, €15) — those were earlier seasons; the current list is above.
  • The ticket is for one entry; the visit inside is five to ten minutes.
  • If the cave is closed you pay nothing for it and the day continues; the tour’s own free-cancellation policy covers a full cancellation.
