Hvar is the second gateway to the Blue Cave and, for anyone already staying there, the better one: a shorter crossing, a later start, and a route that usually collects the Green Cave on Ravnik as well. Here is how the Hvar day differs from the Split marathon and which boat to take.

Departure and route
Hvar boats leave from the harbour offices at about 10:15–10:30, later than Split’s 8am because the crossing to Biševo is shorter and the cave’s light window still opens at 10:30. The typical loop:
- Biševo — the Blue Cave, moor at Mezuporat, ticket in cash, small boat, five to ten minutes inside.
- Ravnik — the Green Cave, which the Split boats often skip; a separate €12/€8 ticket, and here you may swim in.
- Stiniva on Vis, and often Komiža for a break.
- Budikovac Blue Lagoon and the Pakleni islands on the way home.
The Hvar arrival at Mezuporat lands slightly after the Split wave — sometimes that shortens the wait, sometimes it lengthens it; the operator’s ordering is built around it either way.

If you are staying on Hvar, do not go back to Split for the boat. If you are staying in Split, the Split day already includes two hours in Hvar town at the end.
